Sam H. Owens Dec. 16, 1920-Aug. 26, 2010 Funeral services for Sam H. Owens,
89, former mayor of Magnolia, were Aug. 30, 2010, at First Baptist Church,
Magnolia, with Dr. Barry Ward officiating. He died Aug. 26, 2010, at Ochsner
Medical Center in New Orleans. Owens was a retired automobile
dealer and a member of First Baptist Church of Magnolia. He was associated
with a Tylertown auto dealership before moving to Magnolia. Owens served in
the U.S. Army during World War II. He was born Dec. 16, 1920, in
Birmingham, Ala., son of the late Sam Herbert Owens Sr. and Ellie Mae Sims
Owens. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Owens and Carrie
Owens Callihan; and a brother, John D. Owens Sr. He is survived by his wife of 69
years, Keron Brumfield Owens of Magnolia; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki
Kirby and Glenn of Slidell, La.; and a granddaughter, Tracy L. Treadaway of
Slidell. Pallbearers were Jimmy Alford, Guy
Geller, Emmett Hennessey, Jerry Lang, Frank Montalvo and Tyrone Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were the
deacons of First Baptist Church, Donald Brewer, Dr. Harry Frye, Dr. Ray
Montalvo Sr., Dr. Ray Montalvo Jr., Leon Williamson, Dr. David Snow, Percy
Raybourn, Bud Flowers and Frank Martin. Burial was in Tylertown Cemetery
with Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in charge. Daveronski Byrd
Aug. 1, 1987-Aug. 26, 2010 Funeral services for Daveronski
Byrd, 23, were set Sept. 1, 2010, 1 p.m., at St. Paul Missionary Baptist
Church with Rev. Julius Jacobs officiating. He died Aug. 26, 2010, of natural
causes at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. Byrd was born Aug. 1, 1987, in
Tylertown. Burial was set for the church cemetery with Washington Funeral
Home in charge. Lola Lee Conerly Funeral services for Lola Lee
Conerly, 79, of Jayess, were Aug. 28, 2010, at New Home Church of Christ
Holiness USA with Pastors Mickell and Rondell Conerly officiating. She died Aug. 20, 2010, at Southwest
Regional Medical Center. Burial was in the Conerly Family Cemetery with Ginn Funeral Home in charge. |
