Bobby Earl Washington, 68, was born on July 9, 1951, in Darbun. He is the eighth of 10 children born to the union of the late Israel and Annie Kate James Washington.
A funeral service was Feb. 8, 2020 at Craft-Ginn Funeral Chapel, Rev. Kenneth Preston officiating, interment in the Sartinville Cemetery.
He attended Marion Central High School in Columbia. He later joined the U.S. Department of Labor Job Corp., where he trained and served for several years as a “firefighter”. In his early childhood he attended New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, Foxworth.
On Feb. 27, 1978, he was married to Renetta Magee. To this union were born two sons: Bobby Jr. and Chris.
Washington suffered a massive heart attack and died Jan. 30, 2020, at his home in Brandon Bay.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers: Ezekial Washington, James Pittman Washington and Eddie Washington; two sisters, Bettie Washington and Marie Washington Smith; two nephews: Brian Quinn and Eld. L. D. Alfred, Jr., and two great-nephews, Kendrick Landon Palmer and Kyler Blaine Nelson.
Survivors are: his wife, Renetta Washington, two sons: Bobby Washington, Jr. and Chris Washington, all of Brandon Bay; two grandchildren: Alivia R. Lenoir and Chermelle J. Washington; four sisters: Norah (Paul) Quinn, Juliane Washington, Emma Washington, all of Foxworth, and Dorothy (Kenneth) Preston, of Jackson; one sister in law: Mary R. Magee; one brother-in-law: Dewald Magee.
