A funeral service for William Loyd Rand, 91, of Tylertown, was Feb. 24, 2020, at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. David Hedden officiating, burial in the Enon Church Cemetery.
Rand died at Diversicare in Tylertown Feb. 22, 2020. He was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Foxworth to the late Lizzie and Oliver Rand. He is also preceded in death by his wife Mary Rand; son William Loyd Rand, Jr.; grandson Jacob Rand; step- grandson Russell Achord; brother Richie Rand; sister Bernita Rand; niece Vanessa Dunaway King; and faithful dog Snow Rand.
He was a member of Enon Baptist Church, a Mason, and 32nd Shriner. He served on the Walthall County School Board for 12 years. He was an avid outdoorsmen, farmer, cattleman, gardener, and local syrup maker.
Survivors include his children William Lydell (Bonnie) Rand, Dewanna (Brother David) Rand-Achord, and Dewayne (Dana) Rand; grandchildren Kelly Rand, Mary Micah (Covbin) Stephens, Hannah Rand, Hunter (Lilly Ann Baudin) Rand; great-grandchildren Jace Baudin; step -grandchildren Traci Achord and Regina (Paul) Breard; step -great-grandchildren Lindsey Achord, David Breard, Chandler Achord, Victoria Walker, Charles Breard, and Stephen Breard; three great great grandchildren; beloved dog Cotton Rand.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Price, Terry Boyd, Jerry Boyd, Milton Dunaway, Brad Dunaway, and Al Rodrigue.
Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Harvey, Chandler Achord, Darrell Chunn, Joe Gutter, Homer King, Kenneth Rand, Chris Rials, Ronnie Campbell, and Riley Rials.
