Betty Jo Magee, a resident of Hackley, died April 13, 2020, at her home. She was born Dec. 6, 1942. She was a longtime employee of UPS working out of the Covington office. She was always proud that she was the first woman delivery driver to service our area, including her usual route of Livingston Parish. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and joking around with her family. She was a member of Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons: Roger (Jennifer) Dale Magee Tylertown; William Ray (Kathy) Graves of Hackley; daughter: Vanda Lisa (Alan) Miley of Varnado; 10 grandchildren: Andrew Magee, Lacey Magee, Brooklyn Magee, Allison Magee, Paris Magee, Ethan and Allison Graves, Stephen Graves, Adam Graves, Alex and May Miley, Michael and Brittney Miley; eight great-grandchildren: Jace, Olivia, Mattie, Riley, Griffin, Chantry, Jackson, Marlowe; two sisters: Ruby Hylon Walley, Sheree Magee both of Hackley; three brothers: Robert (Debra) Magee of Hackley, Walter Ray (Juanita) Magee of Jonesville, LA, Calvin Lloyd (Joyce) Magee of Hackley.
She was preceded in death by her father Joel Robert Magee, mother Vanda Rogers Magee, sisters Genell Crews, Janice Faye Magee, Lorell Spears, brothers Louie Magee, Rueben Rogers.
A graveside funeral service was in the J. Magee Family Cemetery April 15, 2020, with Rev. Leon Hickman officiating.
