A graveside service for Jerome Armstrong, 82, of Tylertown, was May 9, 2020, at New Zion Cemetery.
Armstrong died at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg May 5, 2020. He was born June 20, 1937, in Tylertown to the late Scottie and Thomas Armstrong. He was also preceded in death by his brother Richard Earl Armstrong and mother of his children Judith Ann Armstrong.
He was a member of Tylertown United Methodist Church. He retired from Mississippi Highway Patrol after 35 years as a state trooper and worked 10 years for Walthall County Sheriff’s Office.
Survivors include his wife Frances Armstrong; children Steve (Jenny) Armstrong; Penni (Shane) Burch, J.J. Armstrong, Kim Fortenberry, and Tonia (Keith) Carruth; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were J. J. Armstrong, Steve Armstrong, Stephen Armstrong, Roy Armstrong, Tony Armstrong, and Bruce Stogner.
