A graveside service for Bobby J. Sauls, 80, of Columbia, was May 28, 2020, at Darbun Community Cemetery with Dr. Benny Hornsby officiating.
He died May 24, 2020, at Marion General Hospital.
A long-time resident of Columbia, he was well-known for his singing ability and had committed about 600 songs to memory. He was a member of East Columbia Baptist Church. He was a Free Mason and former town marshal of Tylertown. He had been lead singer of a country group, Marshal and the Outlaws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnie and Mary Andrews Sauls; son, Clark Sauls; and brother, Johnie Sauls.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Sauls; daughter, Daphne Evans; son, Jeffrey Evans ; granddaughter, Presley Herbst; great-grandson, Reider Herbst; brothers, Doyle Sauls and Kenny Sauls; and sister, Gail Cothern.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Miller, Hayden Miller, Geoffrey McMichael, Jerry Broom, Jim Allen, Greg Elkins and Danny Alexander.
