A memorial service for Hugh Monroe Smith III, 67, of Tylertown, was set for July 1, 2020, at Capps Funeral Home.
Smith died at Southwest Medical Center in McComb June 25, 2020. He was born Nov. 4, 1952, in New Orleans to the late Doris and Hugh Smith, Jr. He is also preceded in death by his sister Amy Smith.
Smith was a Christian farmer who loved his John Deere tractors and working the land. He started working for the Walthall County Co-op in 1976 and ended up being the president and CEO of the company. He also enjoyed woodworking, traveling, camping where he was a member of several camping organizations, listening to country music and just enjoyed life in general.
Survivors include his wife of six years Mary Jane Smith; daughter Wendy (Josh) Warren; stepson Bradley (Ashley) Holly; brother Ricky (Denise) Smith; sisters Angie (Dickie) Foil and Rebecca Stogner; grandchildren Justin Warren, Brooke Warren, Madelyn Holly, Ainsley Holly, and Ryker Holly.
