A funeral service for William Jesse Crain, 79, of Sandy Hook, was July 12, 2020, at Carson Springs Cemetery with Rev. Archie Herring officiating.
Crain died at Diversicare in Tylertown July 11, 2020. He was born July 18, 1940, in Sandy Hook to the late Katie and Homer Crain.
Crain enjoyed work; you could find him most of the time either farming, working on vehicles either for himself or to help out his neighbors, running his bulldozer, or just being outside working with his tractors. He was a big John Deere tractor fan and owner. Crain enjoyed playing guitar when he had a free moment. He was a longtime member of Carson Springs Baptist Church and also a member of the local Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Alaine Crain; children Lorraine Jenkins, Roger (Denissa) Crain, and Jesse (Rita) Crain; grandchildren Joey (Jessie) Jenkins, Misty (Sean) Glynn, Jeremy Jenkins, Sydni Crain, Chason (Isa) Stogner, Alanah (Dylan) Bullock, and Emma Crain; great-grandchildren Aden Jenkins, Caroline Jenkins, Maxwell Glynn, and Jerald Stogner; sisters Maudine (Kenneth Ray) Polk, and Ellouise Herring; brothers Hillary Crain and Randy (Sharon) Crain.
Pallbearers were Joey Jenkins, Sean Glynn, Jeremy Jenkins, Chason Stogner, Dylan Bullock, and Randy Crain.
The honorary pallbearer is Hillary Crain.
