Kenneth Octavia Howard, 90, of Tylertown, died Aug. 7, 2020, at Billdora Senior Care.
Born July 13, 1930, in Tylertown, he was the son of the late Herbert Howard and Annie Weary Howard. He was a member of Mt. Moriah MB Church where he remained a member until he passed. He was a member of the Walthall County male chorus. Early in life he married Daisy Howard where 10 children were born to that union. Later in life he married Freddie Mae Warren Howard and gained three more children.
He retired from Stringer’s Industries of Tylertown after working there for almost 40 years. He was a man of God that enjoyed singing in the church choir, getting together with his family and friends and did not mind helping others.
Survivors are his wife, Freddie Mae Howard, seven daughters, Rosa (Grady) DuBose of Alabama, Dale Howard, Brenda Howard, Cathy Howard, all of New Orleans, Ziporiah Howard Owens of Tylertown, LaShandra Elzie, Marceail Cook of Baton Rouge; a special granddaughter, Ashley (Richard) Pack of Tylertown; a daughter-in-law, Stephanie (the late Jessie) Howard; four sons, John Howard of Baton Rouge, Kenneth Howard, Keith Howard and Tracey Washington, all of New Orleans; one sister, Clemmie Lee Higgins of Tallulah, LA.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Jessie Ray Howard, King Cook and Fred Cook; eleven siblings, Lerue, Nathaniel, Cullen, Ruby J., Vonnie B., Margarite, Ester B., Kessie, Wilester, Marshall and David Howard; two grandchildren, Clayton Dunn and Priscilla Howard Watson.
A graveside service was Aug. 15, 2020, at Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery, with Rev. Victor Hill rendering the eulogy.
Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Howard, John Howard, Brian DuBose, Keith Howard, Grady DuBose and Lawrence Howard.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
