Warren J. “Bird” Conerly, 75, of Tylertown, died Sept. 1, 2020, in Hattiesburg.
Born May 4, 1945, in Tylertown, he was the son of the late N. C. Conerly and Sarah Jane Brister Conerly.
Conerly was a member of Mesa Mt. Olive MB Church of Tylertown. For many years he worked at Engle Shipyard in New Orleans and later came back home to work for Sumrall Glass until he retired. He was married to Catherine Weary Conerly for 55 years and to this union four children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Glean Harrel Conerly.
Survivors are his wife, Catherine Conerly of Tylertown; three daughters, Fannie Bates, Tanyer (Douglas) Manning and Emma Jean Youngblood, all of Tylertown; a son, Warren (Kimberly) Conerly of Tylertown; one god-daughter, Jepora (Brad) Forrest; one god-son, Shelton Slocum; two brothers, Norman (Brenette) Conerly and Grover (Mattie) Conerly, both of Tylertown; four sisters, Inez (Billy) Gatlin and Juanita Conerly, both of Tylertown, Louise Magee of Salina, KS, and Zelma (Richard) Bullock of Pontiac, MI.
A graveside service was Sept. 12, 2020, at Tylertown Cemetery II in Tylertown, with Rev. Dr. Lanny Williams rendering the eulogy and officiating.
Pallbearers were Chauncey Conerly, Samuel Bates, Clarence Youngblood, Toby Conerly, Reco Conerly and Mario Brister.
Honorary pallbearers were Warren Edward Conerly, Grover Conerly, Richard Bullock, Bryant Brister and Norman Conerly.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
