Wildcats, Chiefs both post losses in football Friday

Tylertown and Salem both fell Friday night as the schools both move into the second half of the 2020 football season, each with identical 1-6 records overall.
The Salem Wildcats managed to chalk up 20 points against Puckett, but still fell 28 points short. When the final horn sounded the score stood Puckett 48, Salem 20.
Overall, Salem is 1-6, 1-4 in district play.
Tylertown fared no better as the Chiefs continue in what has proved so far to be a lackluster season.
The Magee Trojans scored early in the game, putting 25 points on the board in the first half–13 in the first quarter and 12 in the second–while holding the Chiefs scoreless.
The second half held from bright sports as the Chiefs answered the Trojans’ three second half touchdowns with two of their own, but still falling way short in the final tally.
At game’s end, Magee bettered the Chiefs 46-14.
Overall, the Chiefs are 1-6, 0-3 in district play.
