Wildcats, Chiefs lose
Both county teams came up on the losing side last week near the ending of the high school football season.
The Salem Wildcats lost to Mt. Olive 36-8. The Wildcats are 1-7 overall and 1-5 in district play.
Tylertown’s Chiefs met the No. 2 team in their district a week after playing the No. 1 team.
The Chiefs traveled to West Marion where the Trojans handed them a 44-22 loss. All the Chiefs’ scoring effort came in the second half of the ball game. Tylertown has a 1-7 overall record, 0-4 in district play.
Salem is on the road this week playing a Thursday night game against Resurrection Catholic High School. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Gautier High School field.
The Wildcats finish their season on Nov. 6 playing Leake County High School at Walnut Grove.
The Chiefs end their season this Friday night with a game at Bassfield playing Jeff Davis High School. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
