Funeral services for David Earl Dillon, 67, of Jayess, were Nov. 14, 2020, at Hartman-Hughes Chapel with Rev. Dan Pardue officiating, burial in the Boyd Cemetery.
David Earl Dillon was born Oct. 26, 1953, to James Louis Dillon, Sr. and Ora Fortenberry Dillon. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Dillon; late wife, Sabrina Dillon; and nephew, Kurt Dillon.
Dillon joined the Navy after high school and later worked as a paramedic and safetyman. His work and love of adventure took him around the world and back until he was disabled in a motorcycle accident. He was an avid football and Nascar fan. He had a lifelong love of motorcycles and was a lifetime member of ABATE.
Survivors include his wife Jo Ann Dillon; son Jaryth Lee; daughters Lacie Rushing and Lanie Tripp; grandchildren Autumn Rushing, Caleb “Bubba” Rushing, Landyn Tripp, and baby to be MiCayla Rushing; brothers James (Martha) Dillon Jr., Keith (Patsy) Dillon.
Pallbearers were Tre’ Fairburn, John Lowhorn, Micah Dillon Jason Smith, Keyon Smith and Gary Upton.
Honorary pallbearers were Cotton Fortenberry, James Lee Burch and Mike Knippers.
