Arzelia “Zel” Lane, 74, of Tylertown, died on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020, at Walthall General Hospital in Tylertown.
Born Sept. 2, 1946, in Tylertown, she was the daughter of the late Phillip Lane, and Sarah Ellzey Lane. She joined St. Chapel MB Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until her health failed.
She was married to James R. Brock Sr. and to this union three children were born. In addition he her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry Lane; and two grandchildren, Arzelia Eva Brock and James R. Brock III.
Survivors are two sons, Patrick Lane and James Brock Jr.; one daughter, Sarah Brock, all of Tylertown; three grandchildren, Jenish and Jariah Brock of McComb, Azalea Brock of Tylertown; an aunt, Mae Bell May of Biloxi; a special cousin, Elizabeth Smith; a godson, Vernon B. Barnes; one daughter-in-law, Jennifer Jackson.
A graveside service was Nov. 28, 2020, at St. Chapel MBC, with Dr. Douglas Hart rendering the eulogy and officiating, interment in the St. Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roderick Bearden, Andrea Barnes, George Washington III, Ronnie Williams, Demontae Williams and Samuel Patterson.
Honorary pallbearers were Patrick Lane, James Brock Jr., Vernon Barnes, Lovell Barnes Sr., Samuel Moses, George Washington II, and Lindsay Dillon.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
