Lelia Mae Magee, 79, of Tylertown, died Jan. 8, 2021, at University MS Medical Center, Jackson, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Magee was born Oct. 19, 1941, to the late Louis Hardaway and Annie Posey Hardaway in Cybur.
A funeral service was Jan. 16, 2021, at Craft-Ginn Funeral Chapel, Rev. Ronnie Magee officiating, with interment in Lampton Family Cemetery.
She attended school at the George Washington Carver High in Picayune. At an early age she became a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church. She was later married to the late Lugene Magee. After marriage she became a member of SpringHill COGIC. She was employed as a housekeeper and later pursued a career as a nurse assistant. She worked in the field for many years until retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Lawrence, and James Hardaway and son, Johnny Ray Magee.
Survivors are Emmalean (Benjamin) Ratliff and Rosie Mae (Marcel) Howard; sister, Lucille Satcher; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren.
