Ineda Luter James was born to the union of Eugene Luter and Pearlie Luter on June 18, 1930, in Kokomo. She was reared in a Christian home and was taught biblical principles. Ineda attended the public schools of Darbun Community, including Darbun Line Elementary School, Magee’s Creek High School, and Saints Industrial and Literary School in Lexington.
Survivors are one brother: Bishop Marcus Luter (Eleanor) of McComb; six sisters: Hazel L. Feltus and Almeta L. LeViege (Earl LeViege, Sr.) of New Orleans; Maggie L. Wright of Portland, OR; Dr. Doris L. Copeland of Kileen, TX; Jerry L. Thomas (Albert Thomas) of San Bernardino, CA; and Willie L. Evans (John Evans) of Biloxi; a god-daughter: Christie Harry Gatlin (James Gatlin) of Columbia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouses: John Henry Moore, Kirkland Reed, and Wilton James Sr.; two children: Anita Jean Moore and John Henry Moore; siblings: Henry Luter, Clettis Luter (Red), Clexie Luter (Black), Eva L. Adams, Eunice L. Rodgers, and Ada L. Williams.
The homegoing celebration was Feb. 20, 2021, at Smith Funeral Home, interment at Rest Haven Cemetery, Columbia.
Smith Funeral Home in Columbia was in charge of the arrangements.
