William Harrell, 74, died at Walthall General Hospital March 3, 2021. He was born Dec. 31, 1946, in Walthall County to Prince Albert Harrell and Eloise Dillon Harrell.
Graveside services were March 9, 2021, at Dillon Hill GOGIC Cemetery with burial to follow.
Harrell was married to Ruby Lee Harrell for 46 years. His previous marriage was to Earnestine (Gold) Scott and one daughter was born, Kimberlyn Tina Harrell. He was preceded in death by a son, Cornelius McDonald; parents and three siblings Alfred Harrell and Percy Harrell, sister, Sylvia Hammond.
He served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War from 1965-1968. He was employed with Midway Airport in Chicago and after 20 years of service aboard Amtrak Railroad he retired.
Being brought up with Christian values he was a member of Dillon Hill COGIC as a youth and became a member of St. Matthew AME in Summit, Ill., as an adult.
Survivors are four children, Kimberlyn T. Harrell, Michele (Albert) Junius, Robbie (Matthew) Holmes, Jean (Fred) Schiele; siblings: Prince (Ruby) Harrell, Robert (Pamela) Harrell, Lionel (Mamie) Harrell, Frances (Clinton) Harrell, Andrew (Evelyn) Harrell, Phyllis (Nelson) Harrell; sister-in-law, Gaytha Longm brothers-in-law, Charles Ammons and William Parker; seven grandchildren Justice Harrell, Katrelle Junius, Dabresha Garner, Kaniesha Magee, Lachelle Holmes, Naketrice Smith and Tonya McDonald.
Craft-Ginn Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
