Smitty Bracey, age 70, died April 14, 2021, at University Medical Center in Jackson.
He worked 50 years in retail monument sales and owned Quality Monuments in Foxworth for the past 27 years. Smitty was a Shriner with Grand Lodge #392 in Tylertown and a Marion County election commissioner.
A man of faith, he was a lifelong member of Holly Springs Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Bracey was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Bracey and Mary Thornhill Bracey; and sister, Betty Rials.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Bracey of Foxworth; two daughters, Wendy Rowley Bracey (Joe) of Columbia, and Sandy Rowley Bean (John) of Foxworth; two sons, Gerald Rowley (Charla) of McComb, and Dale Bracey of Foxworth; three sisters, Sandra Hammond (Lark) of Byram, Charlotte Peterson of Hattiesburg; and Daphne Davis (Mack) of Foxworth; a brother, Bob Bracey (Susan) of Tylertown; six grandchildren, Cory Sumrall (Heather), Joshua Bean, Lauren Rowley, Evan Rowley, Megan Rowley, and Peyton Rowley; and a great-grandson, Broxyn Sumrall.
Funeral services were April 17, 2021 at Colonial Funeral Home, Rev. Dave Nichols and Rev. Ron Jordan officiating, interment at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Johnathan Davis, Mike Peterson, Pat Peterson, Chris Bracey, Allen Bracey, Brad Brumfield Cory Sumrall, Evan Rowley and Neville Rials.
Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Brumfield, L.D. Smith, Donnie Williamson, David Branch and Gary Hugh Regan.
Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia was in charge of the arrangements.
