Sue Carney
Jan. 2, 1952 – April 1, 2021
Suzon Elizabeth (Sue) Carney, 69, of Tylertown, died April 1, 2021, in Slidell. Funeral services were April 10, 2021, at Hartman Hughes Chapel with Rev. Randall Garcia, Rev. Henry Broom Jr., and Rev. Wesley Quave officiating.
She was born in Bogalusa to Linzie Marshall Fowler and Sibyl O. Sumrall Graves on Jan. 2, 1952. She worked for the Walthall County School System for 33 years as a bus driver and food service worker. “Ms. Sue”, as she was known to all, was known for her yeast rolls and Christmas candy making. She would make candy bags every year for the students who rode her bus. She would also sing the “Birthday Song” (church version) to her students if she found out it was their birthday. If you wanted extra on your plate at lunch, you found out what line Ms. Sue was serving in. She even taught a few guys how to drive school buses before you actually had to have a license to drive them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bessie (Ann) and Eugene Lewis and Lily Mae Fowler Lavinghouse, a brother and sister-in-law, Jack Linzie and Mildred Fowler, a brother-in-law, Joe Lewis and her in laws, Rev. A.E. and Grace Carney.

(Sharon) Fowler of Lucedale; a sister, Hazel Lewis of Bogalusa; a special nephew, Roger Dale Lewis of Tylertown; grandchildren Andy (Chemik Bentley) Bounds, Chase (Casey) Bounds, Cord McNabb, Annalisa (Zaquarius) Martin, Marcaila (Jordan) Catchings and Alexis, Alora, Alyssa, and Tyler Barber; great grandchildren, Connor Bounds, Trevor Bentley, Zaylee and Gracie Bounds, Dawson, Bentley, and Kyson McNabb, Journee and Javonna Catchings and Xia Martin; special friends who were like her sons, Marcus Swanigan and Lavell (Trista) Howard.
