Lillie Mae Guy Ball, 97, of Tylertown, died May 12, 2021, at Billdora Senior Care in Tylertown.
Born Nov. 9, 1923, in Sandy Hook, she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” Guy and Jessie Mae Pittman Guy. After marrying Clyde Ball, she moved to the Mt. Moriah community. She had two children Jessie Ray Moses Guy and Clydy James Ball. She served her family as a homemaker.
She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and there she became a member of the Eastern Stars, the Women’s Mission, and the Farmer’s Progressive Lodge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Ball; her children, Jessie Ray Moses Guy, and Clydy James Ball; her sisters, Auguestine (Nadine) Simmons, Hessie B. Bunny, Lula Mae Bell; her brother, S.L. Guy and Frank Pittman.
Survivors are her sisters, Sherly Cotton, Lagwendla (Jimmy) Gathright, Karen (J.L.) Conerly, Kay (Delast) Pittman, Jacqueline Mark, Yvette Thomas, and Bobbie Robinson; grandson, Mark (Connie) Guy; and great grandchildren, Chelsea Marquise Guy and Jemarc Isiah Guy.
A graveside service was May 16, 2021, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church cemetery with Dr. Carl Bickham rendering the eulogy and officiating.
Pallbearers were Rodney Cotton, Nicholas Cotton, Byron Cotton, Diamante Elzie, Willie Youngblood Jr. and Tyrone Magee.
Honorary pallbearers were Mark Guy, Jemarc Guy, Delast Pittman, J.L. Conerly and Jimmy Gathright.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
