Gregory Dwayne Pigott, 53, of Sandy Hook, died July 1, 2021, at his residence.
Born Aug. 16, 1967 in Sandy Hook, he was the son of the late B. J. Pigott and Lena Mae Weary Pigott. He attended West Marion High School. Later in life, he took on various jobs of his own including carpentry, electrical work, car-detailing and other local jobs. He was also employed with Sumrall Welding and Jerr-Wood Ranch.
He loved to spend time grilling and hanging out with friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jaquan Johnson; three brothers, Jerry Pigott, Benjamin Joseph Pigott and Anthony Donell Pigott; one sister, Carolyn Faye Green; and one sister-in-law, Pearl Pigott.
Survivors are one special friend, Sandra Mack of Sandy Hook; three sons, Demetric Mark, Marcus Mark and Troy’Darius Mack, all of Sandy Hook; four daughters, Takiyah Expose of Buford, GA, Cassondra Warren and Dominque (Jerry) Raiford, both of Sandy Hook, and Britney (Byron) Osgood of Columbia; 14 grandchildren, Brekayla, Marcus Jr., Markel, DeSheaundra, Jarriente, Jerrion, LaZarius, Cardarius, Zykeria, Tytianna, Jaden, Jordan, Brayden and Byrson; five brothers, Julius (Willye Lou) Pigott of Jackson, MI, James Pigott of Jackson, Rev. Loran (Brenda) Pigott of Columbia, Eugene Pigott and Richard Pigott, both of Sandy Hook; three sisters, Earnestine (Nelvis) Green of Sandy Hook, Joann Pigott of Houston, TX, and Jacqueline Pigott of Houston, TX; one uncle, Julius (Roberta) Pigott of Mansfield, OH; three aunts, Leander Weary of Sandy Hook, Delphina Weary of Bogalusa, and Renetta McDermott of Orlando, FL; one special nephew, Ricky Green of Sandy Hook.
A funeral service was July 10, 2021, at 1st Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Bridges officiating, interment in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clifton Gillard, Shane Barnes, Ricky Green, Zachary Ratliff, Byron Osgood, Jerry Raiford, Nelvis Green Jr. and Terrence Mark.
Honorary pallbearers were Julius Pigott, James Pigott, Rev. Loran Pigott, Eugene Pigott, Richard Pigott, Nelvis Green Sr., Demetric Mark, Marcus Mark and Troy’Darius Mack.
Washington Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
