Funeral services for Pauline Fortenberry, 91, of Tylertown, were at Capps Funeral Home July 18, 2021, with Rev. Dan Perry and Rev. Michael Knippers officiating, interment at New Zion Cemetery.
Mrs. Fortenberry died July 14, 2021, at Billdora Senior Care. She was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Tylertown to the late Audrey and Lemmie Fortenberry. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years J.B. Fortenberry and sister Nellene Corbitt.
Pauline was a member of New Zion Baptist Church where she served as WMU director, Sunday School teacher, leader of mission organizations, librarian and was on many church committees. She was a retired garment plant worker for Haspels and American Fabrics. She enjoyed reminiscing and running into her former work friends. She was a natural caregiver who dedicated many years to caring for her mother, husband, and other relatives. She was a doting “Mimi” who spent her days keeping, transporting, and spoiling her two granddaughters, Hillary and Keely, who brought her much joy and happiness.
Survivors include her sons Paul (Stacye) Fortenberry and Barrette Fortenberry; granddaughters Hillary (Zak) Thoele and Keely Fortenberry; great-grandson Myles Thoele.
Pallbearers were Keith Davis, Winston Fortenberry, Aaron Wood, Delbert Wood, Bill Goldman, and Eddie Lacroix.
Honorary pallbearers were Hubert Wood, Robin Boyd, Lynwood Dykes, and Malcolm Fortenberry.
