Alcedee Mark, 89 of Sandy Hook, died July 19, 2021, at Billdora Senior Care in Tylertown.
Born April 8, 1932, in Sandy Hook, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Mary Pittman.
She was employed at Orleans Furniture Factory in Columbia for about 12 years. She was a member in the Mt. Bethel Church Circle #1, Circle #2 and the Women’s Mission. She was also a member of the Sweet Valley Chapter #29 Order of the Eastern Star.
Her hobbies were cooking, fishing and farming.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mark was preceded in death by her son, Alvey Mingo; husband, Rev. Edward Mark; 10 siblings, Raviel Pittman, B.J. Pittman, Rita Von Fountain, Caniza Pittman, Jewel Pittman, Edgie Lee Pittman, Nellie Pittman, Curbia Pittman, N.J. PIttman and E.P. Pittman.
Survivors are her daughter, Evon “Sug” Bell; siblings, Eva Mae Mingo and Wilder Pittman of Sandy Hook; bonus children: Carolyn Howard, Loretta McCraney, Nichelle Mark, Gregory Mark of New Orleans, and Edward (Tammy) Mark Jr., of Tylertown.
A funeral service was July 28, 2021, at 1st Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Jesse Bridges rendering the eulogy and officiating, interment in Ford Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Sandy Hook.
Pallbearers were Calvin Fountain, Woodroe Weary Jr., Kendall Fountain, Dennis Bell, Larry Mingo, Gregory Mingo, John Mingo, William McMullin, Devin Warner, Levorn Fountain, Artania Mingo and La’Darrell Warner.
Honorary pallbearers were Lenzie Mingo, I’J Pittman, Jessie Pittman, Louis Mingo, Edward Mark Jr., Herbert Pittman, Johnny Pittman, Willie Mingo, Gregory Mark, Tarvaurchie Weary, Elmore Sholes and Lee Fountain.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
