Kelley “Robert” Jones, 55 of Tylertown, died July15, 2021, at his residence in Tylertown.
Born June 6, 1966, in Los Angeles, Calif., he was the son of Roy Lee Jones, and the late Meneva Simmons Jones. Robert was married to Cecalie Jamar Jones.
Jones started school in the Los Angeles area but later moved to Tylertown and graduated from Tylertown High School in 1985.
Jones was a member of Greater Nazareth MBC in Los Angeles and the Mt. Moriah MB Church in Tylertown.
He moved back to Los Angeles in 1987 and met and married Cecalie Jamar in 1991.
He had a passion for music at a young age and loved playing drums and did so in several gospel groups. Jones also loved cooking and was known for his barbeque rub.
He worked various jobs including a special team coach and offensive coordinator for the Highland Youth Football League. He was affiliated with the Golden League Sports Organization until moving to Tylertown.
Survivors are his wife; nine children, Dalron (Danielle Jones, Chris Jones, Ashley Jones, Regena Jones, Dalvin Jones, Symone Jones, Christopher Ross, Jordan Anthony and Journee Jones; father, Roy L. Jones; two brothers, Rickey Jones and Yahvah Jones; three sisters, Myvah, Halyn and Carvah Jones; three brothers-in-law, Dattillo Daniels, Eric Alexander and Byron Alexander; two half brothers, Devin (Shani) Jones and Dylan Jones; four aunts, Gaynell (Percy) Magee, Betty Jones, Jennifer Williams and Tracy Ransfer; three uncles, Herbert Simmons, Donald Jones Sr., and Donnie Williams; five grandchildren.
A graveside service was Aug. 7, 2021, at Mt. Moriah MBC Cemetery, with Rev. Donald Dillon officiating and rendering the eulogy, interment to follow.
Pallbearers were Jordan Anthony, Lamont Solomon, Devin Jones, Keith Lawson, Derrick Bowie, Reginald Magee, Dylan Jones and Brenden Howard.
Honorary pallbearers were Roy Lee Jones, Herbert Simmons, Donald Jones Sr., Derek Jones, Anthony Moss, Donell Slocum, Sidney Dexter, Rickey Jones, Charles Jones, Donald Jones Jr., Lavall Howard, Fletcher Moss, Percy Magee and Rickey Jones II.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
