Funeral services for Earl Thomas, 88, of Tylertown, were Sept. 25, 2021, at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Penton officiating, burial in the Centerville Cemetery at Dexter.
Thomas died at Diversicare in Tylertown Sept. 22, 2021. He was born July 12, 1933, in Tylertown to the late Lemmie and Edna Thomas. Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Glenda Thomas; son William Earl “Tweet” Thomas; brothers Clyde Thomas, Carlos Thomas, and Alton Thomas; sisters Evelyn Thomas, Lovie Dillon, Wessie Brown, Lois Gardner, Hazel Moore, and Wilda Corbin.
With his wife of 65 years, Glenda Thomas, he had two businesses. First was a dairy farm they operated for many years with their son, William Earl ‘Tweet” Thomas. Then they owned and operated Thomas’ Fish House in Bogalusa. When he was in his 80’s he would ride his bicycle around in the Dexter community. Thomas was a member of Dexter Centerville Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his heavenly father and was proud to be a Christian.
Survivors include granddaughter Lauren Thomas; daughter-in-law Lisa Magee; nephew Mickey (Ruth Anna) McDaniel; great-grandson Keaton Bass.
Pallbearers were Jr Wascom, Skipper Creel, Darrell Dillon, Dave Wascom, Rodney Wood, and Bruce Stogner.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Kennedy, Jeffery Ellis, Larry Jarrell, and Mickey McDaniel.
