Breast Cancer Awareness month; Oct. 22 is ‘Pink Day’

Plans are underway for the observance of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the town will observe “Pink Day” Friday, Oct. 22.
A photo display of both breast cancer survivors and victims will take place at the Tylertown Post Office. A drop box in the post office lobby is available for anyone wanting to drop off photos. Organizers prefer the photos to be 8×10 in size.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority will be present Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. at Centennial Square for a balloon release. Anyone who would like to have a balloon released in honor or in memory of a love one or friend. The balloons are available at no cost. The balloon release takes place at 5:15 p.m.
Also, during Pink Day participating town businesses will provide refreshments.
Businesses are being encouraged to “pine out” their storefronts, but no judging will take place.
