Eld. Lattimore McCray, Jr., 58 of Tylertown, died Oct. 1, 2021, at Forrest General Hospital following a brief illness. McCray was born Feb. 4, 1963, in Walthall County.
He joined Brandon Bay United Methodist Church at an eary age and later in life joined Knoxo COGIC. He was also pastor at Macedonia Full Gospel Church for several years and remained a member until his passing. He was married to Shirley McCray.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lattimore McCray Sr.; stepfather, Willie Carter Sr.; two sisters, Audrey Allen and Beatrice Carter; two brothers, Nathaniel (Danny Boy) Addison and Willie Carter Jr.
Survivors are his wife of 10 years: Shirley McCray; his mother, Arther Rean McCray-Carter; his children: Renardo McCray, Reco McCray, Sedric Varnado, Stephanie (Conels) Goudy-Magee, and John Jones III; his gradchildren: Zaden McCray Jayce McCray, Jayla McCray, Zaylie Burns, Sedriona Varnado, Sakiyah Varnado, London McCray, Armani McCray, Calandre Magee, Cailyn Magee and Carlee Magee; nine sisters: Shirley (Greg) Jablonowski of Milwaukee, WI, Dorothy (Rev. Lanny) Williams of Franklinton, Lovie Jefferson of Mt. Hermon, Grace Ann Forest, Linda (Ellis) Mark, Sherrie (George) Brister, all of Tylertown, Erma (Leon) Gibson of McComb, Kathryn (David) Jeanpierre of Magnolia, Berhathia (Lloyd) Gibbs of Sumter, SC; Wallace McCray of Foxworth, Tyrone (Eulonda) McCray of Tylertown, Richard (Tamika) McCray of Pensacola, FL, Billie Carter and Eld. Wanzell (Annie) Caiter Sr. of Osyka; one sister-in-law, Gail Carter.
Funeral services were Oct. 8, 2021, at Southwest Events Center in Tylertown, Dr. Lannie Williams officiating, with interment in Tylertown Cemetery.
