Sandra Jean (Smith) Stalcup, 75, of Tylertown, died after a short illness Sept. 15, 2021, in Brandon, FL. Known as Sandy, she was born Aug. 10, 1946, in York, PA, and grew up in Delta, PA. She graduated from Kennard-Dale High School in Fawn Grove, PA, in 1964, then attended Maryland Medical Secretarial College in Hagerstown, MD, and pursued a career as a medical transcriptionist.
Mrs. Stalcup worked for the Federal Civil Service for 23 years. She was a long-time resident of Florida before moving to Tylertown in 1993. She married the love of her life, Paul M. Stalcup, in 1996. She loved animals and spending time with her friends and family, and she was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Tylertown and St. Mary Catholic Church in Biloxi.
Mrs. Stalcup was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and her parents, Willard and Pauline Smith, and her aunt Helen E. Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Keene) Roberts (Geoffrey), her granddaughters, Alexandra and Haley, her brother Gary W. Smith (Linda), her nephews James Smith (Anna) and Michael Smith.
A memorial and internment at Biloxi National Cemetery will take place at a later date. Southern Funeral Care in Riverview, FL, was in charge of the arrangements.
