Funeral services for Emogene Taylor Breland, 76, of Tylertown, were Oct. 22, 2021, at Carson Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Dickens and Rev. Archie Herrin officiating, interment at Carson Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Breland died Oct. 18, 2021. She was born Aug. 26, 1945, in Tylertown, to the late Irvin and Georgie Taylor. Alongside her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Breland; son Shawn Breland; brother Sharp Taylor; sisters Pearlene Singletary and Wilmouth Taylor; sister-in-law Barbara Taylor; father-in-law Acie Breland; and mother-in-law Ruby Breland.
She was a longtime member of Carson Springs Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for over 25 years, helped out with the VBS program and just enjoyed fellowshipping with her church family and friends. Outside of her church life she enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family and also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.
Survivors include her sons Marty Breland and Daniel Breland; grandchildren Meghan Breland-Griffin, Brock Breland, Constance Breland, Nicolas Breland, Serenity Breland, Christopher Breland, Michael Breland, and Jay Breland; great- grandchildren Dalton Whitehead, Taylor Breland, Scarlet Griffin, and Caroline Griffin; brother Wayne (Dianne) Taylor; sisters Jessie Merle Taylor and Vivian (Kendall) McKenzie
Pallbearers were Jammie Singletary, Lamar Singletary, Bernard Singletary, Branson Singletary, Christopher Singletary, and Ronnie Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy McKenzie and Brock Breland.
