Funeral services for Bonnie Jean King, 90, of Sandy Hook, were Nov. 24, 2021, at Carson Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Archie Herrin officiating, interment at Carson Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. King died Nov. 21, 2021. She was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Tylertown to the late Bossie and Annie McCain. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband A. Seth King; sisters Georgie Taylor, Ruby Brumfield, Mert Seal, and Inez Duncan; brothers Edward McCain, John D McCain, Buck McCain, J Q McCain, and Shelly McCain.
She was a longtime member of Carson Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. King was a remarkable seamstress who worked at Rutter Rex in Columbia and also used those abilities to make clothes for friends and family. Mrs. King enjoyed the outdoors and spending time tending to her flowers; she enjoyed watching the animals as she was working outside.
Survivors include her sons Larry (Carolyn) King, Glyn (Maria) King, and Greg King; grandchildren Chance King, Jaden Slocum, Jordan Bullock, Heather Thomas, Gregory King, Cameron King, and Caleb King; 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Marty Breland, Mike McCain, John Mitchell, Benny Arrinder, John Barber, and Horac Seal. Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron King, Laramie King, and Tommy Woodard.
