Nathaniel Cowart-Lang, 45, of Jayess, died Nov. 3, 2021, at his residence. Cowart was born on March 6, 1976, to Nathaniel Lang and Beverly Cowart in McComb.
He was baptized at an early age. He was a 1994 graduate of Walter L. Cohen in New Orleans.
He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Shakia Sturdivant; both grandmothers, Elnora Cowart and Corrine Lang; and his grandfather, James Lang; his uncle/brother, Jermaine Cowart and uncle, Alvin Cowart.
Survivors are his wife of 14 years, Vanessa; his parents, Beverly Cowart of Jayess, and Nathaniel Lang of New Orleans; five daughters, Kyra Cowart of Texas, Marchane Bloodsaw, Ka’Len Morales, and Imani Johnson, all of Alabama; one brother, DiQuan (Summer) Payton of California; two sisters, Dominique Lang and Nosagie Lang both of Louisana; a niee, Nayomi Elnora Ramey-Payton; aunts: Brenda Thierry, Linda Cowart, Gendloyn Davis (Greg), Demetria Lang-Johnson; his uncles: James Lang Jr. (Shelia), Michael Lang (Loretta), James Jenkins (Terri), Tyrone Singleton.
A service was Nov. 13, 2021, at Craft-Ginn Funeral Chapel, Rev. Michael Lang officiating, interment in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Jayess.
