Drawing features $1,250
Every year thousands of area residents register for the annual Christmas holiday drawing. This year’s “Celebrating the Season” drawing features $1250 in Tylertown Dollars, plus well over $1500 in individual store prizes being given away Friday, Dec. 17, beginning at 5 p.m. prior to the grand prize drawings taking place at 6 p.m.
Winners of individual store prizes do not have to be present to win, how-ever, the four winners drawn for the top three grand prizes must be present to claim those prizes, including a $1000 Tylertown Shopping Dollars grand prize; a La-Z-Boy recliner from Jones Furniture second prize; and $250 in Tylertown Shopping Dollars as third prize.
The grand prize winners will have two-minutes to claim their prize from the time their name is announced. If they fail to show in the allotted time period, the registration slip is discarded and another name is drawn. The process continues until a winner claims the prize within the two-minutes allowed.
Nine times out of 10, the winners, especially in recent years, are close by and collect the prize on the spot.
Tylertown Shopping Dollars are supplied by the Chamber, and they’re just that. Dollars you can use just like cash to make your Christmas purchases from participating local merchants. The shopping dollars come in $10 increments and can be spent like cash at participating merchants.
Registrations and prize drawings have always been a popular interest builder with local businesses, and as long as Tylertown has celebrated Christmas, no one can recall not having a Christmas prize drawing.
The Tylertown Dollars are underwritten by Trustmark Bank, Walthall County Co-op, Pigott Oil Co., Market Max, Citizens Bank and Pike National Bank, while Jones Furniture supplies the La-Z-Boy recliner.
Activities get underway at 5 p.m. at the Agri-Heritage Building with drawings for individual merchant prizes. Leading up to the grand prizes, individual store prizes are drawn from the barrel, and certificates are given to the winners in order to claim their winnings from the store. There are dozens of store prizes packing a value of more than $1500. Winners of individual store prizes who are not present for the drawing will be contacted by telephone and told how to pick up their certificates.
No purchase is required, and you can register as often as you like.
