Funeral services for Peggy Ervin Fortenberry, 80, of Tylertown, were Dec. 23, 2021, at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Hall officiating, burial in the Tylertown Cemetery.
Mrs. Fortenberry died at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Dec. 21, 2021. She was born July 7, 1941, in Sandy Hook to the late William and Ouida Ervin. Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Carl Louie Fortenberry; infant son Jeffery Allen Fortenberry; brothers Charles Ervin and J. W. Ervin.
Mrs. Fortenberry was a member of Tylertown Baptist Church where she attended the Love and Loyalty Sunday school class. For 35 years she owned and operated Fortenberry Cleaners in Tylertown.
Survivors include her children Leisha Fortenberry and Jimmy (Jennifer) Fortenberry; granddaughter Charlotte (Eric) Bardwell; brother Jimmy Dale Ervin; sister Renet (Larry) Tullos; daughter of the heart Mary Helen Fortenberry.
Pallbearers were Channing Stringer, Brice Remley, Spencer Remley, Gunner Kelly, Dewayne Ervin, and Will Foreman.
Honorary pallbearers were the Darbun Rook Club.
