Dale Carson, 76, of Tylertown, died Jan. 19, 2022, at Merit Health Central Hospital in Jackson. Born March 22, 1945, in Tylertown, he was the son of the late Ansel Carson and Muyer Holmes Carson.
He attended school in Walthall County, and at an early age, he joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He worked hauling pulpwood for many years. Carson was married to Betty Jo Jordan Carson Nov. 26, 1966, and they had two children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Rev. Hivey Carson, A.R. Carson, and R.C. Carson; one sister, Virgie Lee Gutter.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Jo Carson; a son, Min. Craig (Brandye) Carson of Fernwood; a daughter, Connie Carson Holloway, of Tylertown; a brother, Roy Carson of Tylertown; two sisters Ora D. (Harold) Leonard of Tylertown, and Shirley Goeffrey of New Waverly, TX; nine grandchildren, Cra’Nesha, Jasmine and Saimareya Carson and Elvonie Holloway of Tylertown, Cravorkian (Keiyana) Carson of Irving, Tex., and Diamond Isaac, Jordon, Craig Jr., and Jaylen Carson all of Fernwood; five grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Carrie Faye Lewis and Charlean Cason, both of Tylertown; two brothers-in-law, Supt. Andrew (Erica) Jordan of Summit, and T.J. (Shirley) Jordan, of Magnolia.
A graveside service was Jan. 26, 2022, at Tylertown Cemetery II, with Rev. Alton Carson rendering the eulogy and officiating, interment in Tylertown Cemetery II.
Pallbearers were his grandsons and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were Craig Carson, Roy Carson, Cravorkian Carson, Craig Carson Jr. and Jordan Carson.
Washington Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
