Kinsey Glen Blomgren, 68, of Tylertown, died Jan. 23, 2022, at his residence. He was born June 1, 1953, in Fresno, Calif.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
For 27 years Blomgren was a teacher of math, biology, and environmental science. He and a team of high school students were in the Guinness Book for World Records for Rube Goldberg. Kinsey was an avid rock climber and conquered Mount Whitney. He and his wife were part of a K-9 search and rescue team in California. In 1993 he was asked to be a part of a two-week summer program at NASA. There he was able to learn how to fly spacecrafts. He was also an artist and a musician.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Blomgren; brothers Jeff Blomgren and David Blomgren.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years Debra Blomgren; sons Frank Blomgren (Jennifer) and Gerone Blomgren (Sonia); mother, Gwen P Fletcher Blomgren; grandchildren Nick Blomgren, Angel Young, Christian Blomgren, Riley Young, Em Blomgren, Anna Blomgren, McKenna Blomgren, and Kinsey Blomgren; brother Erik Blomgren (Susan).
