Enter the Boucherie bake-off

Barbecue’s a family happening in this area, and it’s highlighted the weekend of March 25-26 with the South Mississippi Boucherie at Southwest Events Center.
“With all the rescheduling and postponements due to COVID, we finally got off to an abbreviated start last year and this year we’ve got the full event lined up,” says Stephen Pigott, one of the organizers of the event, affiliated with the Memphis Barbeque Network.
“In addition to the cookoffs featuring local and professional teams, we wanted to involve everyone we can, so we have a cake and pie bake off. It’s open to everyone and there’s a $100 prize,” Pigott said.
Pigott says the rules are simple, as is entering:
Bake a cake or make a pie–either one or both if you can’t decide.
Print and fill out the form–a separate form is required for each entry–from the website: the southmsboucherie.com/contests or access it via our Facebook page.
*Submit entries on disposable plates, covered with disposable wrap with your entry form securely attached.
Drop off your creation Friday, March 25, between 5-5:45 p.m. at the Boucherie Information Booth at Southwest Events Center.
Come back Saturday for fun, entertainment, food and enjoy the Boucherie.
Winners will be announced during closing ceremonies Saturday. The Grand Prize will receive $100, a trophy and bragging rights. Place winners receive a trophy.
No entry fee is necessary. All entries are considered a gift to the South Mississippi Boucherie and may be used to give away or sell.
