Carol Blackwell Donaldson, 75, of Farmersville, Tex., died April 19, 2022. She was born on April 24, 1946 to Percy William Blackwell and Leola T. (Thomas) Blackwell in Tylertown, Mississippi.
She grew up and graduated from high school in Tylertown. After high school, she worked for Southwestern Bell and the different companies they became over 30 years. In one of her transfers for work she went to New Orleans where she met her eventual husband, James Donaldson. Together, they raised their son, Kenny Donaldson.
Mrs. Donaldson was a country girl. She loved going fishing. James and Carol built a camp in Southern Louisiana that took a boat ride to get to. Carol and her family spent many nights and weekends at their camp called “Blood, Sweat, and Tears”. In 1979, James and Carol moved to Texas and lived in Farmersville for close to 30 years.
Survivors by her son, Kenneth Charles Donaldson and wife, Nichole of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Matthew Donaldson of Dallas, TX, Elise Donaldson of Dallas, TX, Lindsey Donaldson of Dallas, TX, Hailey Donaldson of McKinney, TX, Hayden Donaldson of McKinney, TX, and Hudson Donaldson of McKinney, TX; sisters-in-law, Julia Dominach and husband, Jake of New Orleans, Louisiana and Faye Waelde of Louisville, KY; brother-in-law, Danny Donaldson and wife, Becky of Niceville, FL; sister-in-law, Vera Blackwell of Tylertown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Donaldson; parents; brother, Clinton Perry Blackwell; sister, Elizabeth Thomas and brother, Buford Blackwell.
A funeral service was April 26, 2022, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, in Allen, TX, interment at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, TX.
