Norene Pigott King, 97, died March 19, 2022, in Blue Springs. She was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Walthall County to William Otho Pigott and Rosa Smith Pigott.
Mrs. King grew up in Walthall County. After graduating high school she worked as a phone operator among other jobs. She worked for Lehman-Roberts Construction Co. as an executive secretary about 30 years. She also was a successful Mary Kay representative.
She married Charles in 1950 in New Orleans and they were married for 72 years. Norene was an avid bowler and for over 40 years traveled the country participating in numerous tournaments and receiving various awards.
Survivors are her nephews and nieces: Lonnie Pigott (Debbie), Wayne Pigott (Jan), Terry Pigott (Sherry), Cheryl Pigott, Bobbi Duncan, Buddy Duncan (Pam), George Duncan (Carman), Bill Pigott (Doris), Paulette Stogner (Shelton), and Mary Anne Moore (Tim).
She was preceded in death by 18 days by her husband Charles; her parents William and Rosa Pigott; brothers Buford Pigott, Hilmer Pigott, Loy Pigott; and sisters Wessie Pigott and Elrene Pigott Duncan.
A burial service was at Forrest Hill South at a date that has not been set at this time. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to St. Jude Hospital.
Forest Hill Funeral Home in Memphis, TN, was in charge of the arrangements.
