Edna Lee Mingo-Ferrill, 65 of Picayune, died May 26, 2022, at Asbury Hospice, Hattiesburg. Mrs. Ferrill was born May 2, 1957, to Leroy Mingo and Adrean Owens-Mingo in Marion County.
She joined St. Matthew Baptist Church as a child and later became a member of Pentecost Missionary Baptist Church in Slidell where she was an usher, a member of Sisters Linking-Up and a kitchen helper.
She liked baking pound cakes, crocheting blankets or using her green thumb. She graduated from Dexter High School in Tylertown and Pearl River Community College in Poplarville. She worked at Jitney Jungle Grocers, Gulfport School System, Walmart Corp. and Rainbow Child Care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Adrean Mingol; and one sister, Roann Hart.
Survivors are two daughters, Jessica Magee Washington of Hammond, Cathy Elaine Ferrill of Picayune; two grandsons: Kingston Matthew Washington and Malcom Josiah Washington; three sisters Cynthia Lewis (Anthony) of Gulfport; Henrie O. Boyd (Gardner) of Newport News, VA, and Vanessa Mingo of Picayune; a sister-cousin Ira Abram-Breland (Robert) of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Grady Mingo and Willie Mingo (Versie) of Franklinton; a goddaughter Kelly Williams of Gulfport.
Her funeral service was June 4, 2022, at Pentacost MB Church in Slidell, pastor Gary Wood officiating, interment in the Second Mt. Bethel Church Cemetery in Sandy Hook.
