Simon Carson, 67, of Tylertown, died June 4, 2022, at Walthall General Hospital. He was born Nov. 9, 1954, in Walthall County to the late Simon D Carso and Lonza Lee Moss.
At an early age he joined Mesa Mt. Olive Baptist where he served as an usher before he joined Victory in the Truth and then Faith in the Word Minstry.
In October 1981, he joined the Army National Guard where he retired after 22 years of honorable service.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, his grandson and his father-in-law.
Survivors are his wife of 19 years, Sheila Carson; his son, Simon L. (Jessica) Carson; five daughters, Shemeca (Toric) Magee, Simone Carson, Shanda Ratliff, Sheena Hamilton, and Shericka (Mike) Bickham; two granddaughters; six grandsons; three great grandsons; five brothers, Leo (Penny) Carson, John (Linda) Brister, Earnest Brister Sr., Leslie Carson Sr., and Arr Carson; one sister, Lee Mingo; his favorite aunt, Linda Carson; two best friends, Billy Smith and Fred Jones; mother-in-law, Georgia Bickham.
Funeral services for Carson were June 11, 2022, at Faith in The Word Ministry in Franklinton, interment in Allen Bickham Cemetery, Rev. Jacob Tate, Jr. officiating.
