Elma Conerly Dillon, 91, of Tylertown, died July 7, 2022, at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg. Mrs. Dillon was born Oct. 20, 1930, in Walthall County to the late Hezzie and Velma Conerly.
She joined Lee’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and was on the usher board for many years. Her passion was singing with The Spiritual Travelers for many years also. She loved reading her Bible and telling others about the Lord. She enjoyed singing, being outside, flowers and eating ice cream.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Dillon; her six sisters, Beulah, Dovie, Josephine, Ella Mae, Christine and Clara; three brothers, Cleotha, O.B. and Travis; three grandsons and one granddaughter.
Survivors are one brother, Minister H.C. Conerly; four sons, Larry (Barbra) Dillon of Tylertown, Kenneth Sr (Evan.Annette) Dillon of Franklinton, James Dillon and Joey (Clyte) Dillon of Tylertown; special grandchildren, Nigel Fortenberry, Kenneth Dillon Jr., A’Riyah Shabazz and Shawn Roberson; a special niece Greta Jones.
Her funeral service was July 13, 2022, at Lee’s Chapel MB Church, Rev. Raymond Gutter officiating, with interment in the church cemetery.
