Lillie L. Magee, 65, of Jayess, died July 11, 2022, at her residence after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1956 in Tylertown to the late Oliver and Hazel Gutter Manning.
She joined Salem MB Church in Jayess at an early age. She played basketball in her youth and graduated Topeka Tilton High School in 1975. After moving to Flint, MI, she worked for Local 598 with General Motors Truck and Bus Corp for several years.
Later in life she moved back home and reunited with Salem MB Church where served as a choir member and an usher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Oliver Don Demetrius; sister Nettie Grace Green; brothers, James “Pete” Manning Sr., Oliver “OJ” Manning Jr., Robert “Bob” Manning Sr., Artis “Rico” Manning; two nephews, Ronnie Montgomery and Delechip Hill.
Survivors are one son, Ardre “Punkin” Manning; four grandchildren, Richodrick Jalyn Pace, Destini Dominique Manning, Emani Elle Manning, Mackenzie Olivia Manning; a great granddaughter, India Asai Davis; five sisters, Betty Brown, Sarah Hill, Gussie Nell Ulmer, Ethel Mearl Manning, Kepsa Ann Thomas, all of Flint, MI; two sisters-in-law, Lillie Manning of Foxworth, Modean Manning of Columbia.
Funeral services were July 22, 2022, at Salem MB Church in Jayess, Rev. Bernard Ginn officiating, with interment in the Sartinville Cemetery.
