Larry Gilbert Brown, 72, died Aug. 11, 2022, at his place of residence in Franklinton. Born Sept. 29, 1949, he was the son of the late David “Tibb” and Elizabeth Wilson Brown.
He graduated from Washington Parish School in Franklinton. After high school, he worked for Borden Inc. for over 20 years before working at the Gaylord Box Plant in Bogalusa.
He was a member of Hayes United Methodist Church where he served as a lay leader and Sunday School teacher. He frequently visited Hosanna Missionary Baptist Church where his brother pastored.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dexter P. Brown.
Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Louise Brown; his children, Phyllis (David Jr.) Ducre of Slidell, LA; Corey Brown and Andrea Brown, both of Hackley; grandchildren, David Ducre III and Ashley Ducre, both of Slidell, Katera Brown and Kori Brown, both of Surprise, AZ; siblings, William (Lou Dora) Brown Sr, of Detroit, MI, Rev. Bruce L. (Jerolyn) Brown Sr., Vanessa Brown of Hackley, Beverly (LaBlonce) Dyson of Franklinton, Rev. Arnold (Doris) Brown of Baton Rouge; special friends, Godfrey Watson and Betty Toomer, both of Franklinton.
A funeral service was Aug. 20, 2022, at Hosanna Missionary Baptist Church, Franklinton, Rev. Bruce Brown Sr. officiating, interment in Hayes United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gerome Partman, Frank O. Pearson, Kenner Brown, Quinzell Spikes, Zachary Causey, Bruce Brown Jr., Jerroll Dyson and Jermaine Sanders.
Honorary pallbearers were Corey Brown, David Ducre III, William Brown Sr., LaBlance Dyson, Houston Causey Jr., David Ducre Jr., Rev. Bruce L. Brown Sr., Rev. Arnold Brown Sr., Rev. Frank Pearson and Hewitt Magee.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
