Betty Ruth Day Harvey, 90, of Jayess, died Aug. 25, 2022, at Camellia Estates in McComb. She was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Kentwood to the late William Jacob Day and Virgie Marguerite Yarborough. She was also preceded in death by her husband Marvin Harvey and grandson, Gabriel Quentin Milligan.

Mrs. Harvey enjoyed being involved in various activities in her life as she and Marvin changed locations in his work with Exxon. Mrs. Harvey was a cook and worked for 22 years in the Topeka Tilton cafeteria. She was also an accomplished seamstress. She made much of her daughters’ clothing, including Ruth’s wedding dress. She was an avid reader, with books stacked on shelves and every nook and cranny.
