Joann Marks, 74, of Bogalusa, died Aug. 10, 2022, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 18, 1951, to the late Lonnie and Christine Brown in Franklinton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Marks; brother, Charles Brown; sister, Emma Ruth Brown.
Survivors are her husband, C.J. Jackson of Franklinton; a daughter, Tomisha (Anita) Warner of Bogalusa; four sisters, Emma Lee (Charlie) Chisholm of Parmount, CA, Christella (Lenard) Brown-Lee and Tyshan Brown, both of Hackley, and La’Shell Bickham of Chicago, IL; four brothers, Michael (Augustine) Brown, John H. (Diana) Brown and Larry (Shawn) Brown, all of Franklinton, and Lannie Bickham of Chicago, IL; one godson, Deontaye (Cynthia) Chisholm; God sisters, ReShan Lipsey and Regina Weaver; God brothers, Bobby Warren, all of California; God daughter, Yanna (Maine) Thompson; best friend, Stella Blount of Chicago, IL; two granddaughters, Tia Ja (Tootie) Marks of Bogalusa, and London Paris Marks of Hammond; five grandsons, Wanye Carter and Chymeks both of Bogalusa, Vincent (Lil Johnny) Haley of Texas, Jonkez “Nank” (Haley) Dillon of Bogalusa, and Bladen J. Marks of Franklinton; seven great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Ms. Marks was Aug. 27, 2022, at Hosanna MB Church, Hackley, interment at Hayes United Methodist Church, Hackley, pastor Bruce L. Brown, Sr. officiating.
