Nancy “Monk” Mark, 84, of Tylertown, died Sept. 7, 2022, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born Sept. 16, 1937, to the late Leslie Mark and Tressie Magee-Mark in Tylertown.
She was married to Willie (RC) Mark in July of 1957. She worked at New Orleans Furniture Factory. At a young age, she became a member of the Dexter Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Dexter where she served on the usher board, Sunday School department and women’s mission.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, RC Mark; two sisters; and one son-in-law.
Survivors are her daughter, Brenda (R.J.) Ratliff, Arnita Mark, Artressie (Charles) Quinn; son, Arzrito (Tiffany) Mark, all of Tylertown; other children, Williestean (Ray) Banks of Tylertown, Leon (Stephanie) Mark of Hammond, Wilbert (Antoinette) Mark of Gastonia, NC; three sisters, Antoinette Anders, Murphy (Doyal) Youngblood and Josie Simpson; two sisters-in-law, Emma Sibley and Brenda (Linell) Roberts; eight grandchildren, Nakikia, Subrona, Keonna, Shameia, Rashaurd, Corderro, Michelila and AJ; 20 great grandchildren; one God daughter, Kenya Taylor.
Services for Mrs. Mark were Sept. 15, 2022, at East Mt. Olive MB Church (Dexter) in Tylertown, interment in East Mt. Olive Church Cemetery, pastor Reginald Russell officiating.
