Clint Walker, 92, of Chicago, IL, died Sept. 16, 2022. He was born in Fort Adams Nov. 9, 1929, to the late Samuel Walker and Elizabeth Dunbar-Walker.
He worked on the S.S. President boat in New Orleans serving in various positions, when met Quillie. They were married in Tylertown Oct. 9, 1954. Soon after, they relocated to Chicago, IL.
He worked in the restaurant business as a cook while attending night school at Cooley High School. Afterwards, Walker was employed as forklift operator for Waco Manufacturing Co., Inc., in Chicago until he retired in 1980. He enjoyed many of his early retirement years in Tylertown. He was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1997 and remained steadfast in his service.
His passion for music was well known as was his love for backyard barbecues with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Mathilda Douglas; son Quinten Walker; grandson Jeffrey Perkins; granddaughters, LaTarsha Sydnor and Quillie Brittny Walker.
Survivors are his wife, Quillie Walker; six daughters, Regina (Ronald) Sydnor, Debra Ann Walker, Vanessa Walker, Loretta Walker all of Chicago, IL, Cathy Travis of Tylertown; stepdaughter, Maxie Ruth Cephus of Tylertown; two brothers, Albert Walker and Roosevelt Walker of New Orleans; grandsons Theo Walker, Darius Walker, Joshua Walker, John (Dina) Walker, Mark (Misty) Walker, Demonze (Chanel) Spruiel, Cleveland Seamon, Quinton Brian Walker, Clint Jeremiah Walker; granddaughters Elizabeth Walker, Meldida Walker, Cierra (Douglas) McGill, Michelle Sydnor, and Sparkle Walker.
Funeral services were Oct. 1, 2022, at Craft-Dillon-Ginn Funeral Chapel in Tylertown, interment in Tylertown City Cemetery.
