Chiefs head into 1st playoff round Friday after 23-0 win
Tylertown’s Chiefs shut out Port Gibson Friday to capture the No. 2 spot in 3A Region 7 and move into the playoffs Friday night against Perry Central at home.
The Chiefs beat the Blue Wave 23-0 to end the THS regular schedule before a home crowd Friday night.
Wildreckus Johnson, Lee Holmes and Tyquan Ginn all contributed TDs, and coupled with extra points and a touchback, the Chiefs walked away from the game as winners, looking toward the first playoff game this Friday night.
Overall, the Chiefs racked up 225 yards passing, 84 yards rushing and 225 yards receiving for a total of 309 yards in the game.
They averaged 3.8 yards on 22 carries. Still a strong passing team, quarterback Keonis Davis attempted 27 passes and completed 14 for an average of 16.1.
