David Lynn Brister, Jr died Nov. 15, 2022. He was the first born son to David and Rosemary Brister in Tylertown, Jan. 13, 1965.
Brister graduated high school from New Bethel Christian School in 1983 and attended Southwest Community College. He married Delaynna Reed Aug. 7, 1987, in Columbia, Tenn.
He was a master carpenter by trade. He worked as a self-employed contractor for 32 years – managing building projects for multiple large churches, designing custom pulpits, and crafting beautiful staircases. Brister had a passion for music, and at age 13 he began to play the bass. He began mixing his craft with his passion, designing and building incredible custom bass guitars.
David was preceded in death by his father, David Lynn Brister, Sr.; mother, Rosemary Brister; and niece, Dana.
He is survived by his wife, Delaynna; daughter, Kristen (husband Delaine); son, Ryan (wife Megan); daughter, Haley (husband Colton); his six grandchildren, Ainslee, Lily, Asher, Everly, Lincoln, and Aurora; his siblings, Tammy, Janet, Debbie, Ronda, Darla, Daniel, Richard, Michael, and Jonathan.
Pallbearers were Kenny Brister, Logan Brister, Donnie Livingston Jr., Tony Clements, Jeffrey Cantrell, Adam Ham and Brock Reed.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Lewis, Darrell Baker, Donald Lewis, Huck James and Frankie Tew.
A Celebration of Life was Nov. 19, 2022, at The Rock Church of Laurel, Rev. Jerry Rowley and Rev. Ryan Brister officiating. There will be a private family burial.
