Marvin Jerome “Bull” Elzey, 62, died Nov. 16, 2022, at Wesley Merit Hospital in Hattiesburg. Born June 21, 1960, he was the son of the late Julius Quinn and Augustine James.
After graduating from Chesbrough High School, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Army Reserve for many years.
Elzey moved from his home in Wilmer, LA, to Tylertown where he remained until his death. He was employed at Dillon Logging, Transocean, Diamond Offshore, Georgia Pacific, McLane, Sanderson Farms, 3D-Logging, and Home Logging.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Elzey and Ellis Elzey; his mother-in-law, Eva Nell Dillon.
Survivors are his wife, Tonia Dillon of Tylertown; one son, Ashton (Aaliyah) Elzey of McComb; four daughters, Brittany (Keon) Haney, Carmen (Nytease) Lee-Elzey of Wilmer, LA, Teranesha Dillon, and Dequanta Elzey of Tylertown; two special Godsons, Jermaine “Bama” Pittman and Dewayne; three sisters, Yvonne Elzey, Vanessa Melvin, Cynthia (John) Dillon, all of Tylertown; father-in-law, Jerry C Dillon.
A funeral service was Nov. 26, 2022, at Washington Funeral Home with Pastor Clinton Dillon officiating and rendering the eulogy.
Pallbearers were Ashton Elzey, Chadwick Dillon, JaRule Melvin, Quentis Dillon, Frank Elzey, Darius Dyson, Jonathan Dillon, Dexter Melvin, Caze Johnson and LaQuincy Dillon.
Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Mitchell, Tyrone Holmes, Jean Jackson, Lee Holmes, Jerry C. Dillon, Willis Dillon Sr., QuinMichael Dillon, Charlie Dillon and Earl Ellzey.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
